- Lydell Mitchell of The Baltimore Colts #26
Autographed Football - Lydell Mitchell was taken in the
second round of the 1972 NFL Draft out of Penn State University
by the Colts with the 48th overall selection. He was a
teammate of Hall of Fame running back Franco Harris of the
Pittsb urgh Steelers while at Penn State. He established
himself in the mid-1970s as one of the b est all-around running
backs in the NFL. Mitchell, along with teammate Bert
Jones, propelled the Baltimore Colts to three consecutive AFC
East Division titles and topped the 1,000-yard rushing
plateau in three consecutive seasons (1975-77) earning Pro Bowl
honors each year. In addition to his rushing exploits, he
twice led the NFL in pass receptions, in 1974 and 1977.
